Five things I love about September

1) New season fashion

I know that I shouldn't say it but my god I was bored of that bloody heatwave. Apart from it being too hot to sleep and too hot to cook and too hot to eat (you get the picture), I just don't have the wardrobe for it. I am much happier now that the glossies are full of autumn fashion. Shiny new boots, snuggly knits, woolly tights. I cant wait to go shopping...

2) Red wine

It's not that I haven't enjoyed those endless glasses of rose in the sunshine, but there is nothing quite as satisfying after a long day as a nice glass of red. Especially when you can here the rain on the window pane and you're snuggled up in your favourite pjs with a lovely book...

3) ...like A new Jane Green novel

I though as was as excited as I could be when I learned that the wondrous Jane Green would be publishing two books a year from now on, and then her latest offering popped through my letterbox! Lucky old me getting an advance copy to review thanks to the lovely Kirsty at Novelicious. I won't spoil the surprise for those of you who have to wait until 14th September to read but it is amazeballs, quite possibly her best yet and just perfect for snuggling up in your new autumnal cosy knits with that glass of red...

4) Autumn TV

...Of course that is as long as it's not Monday night and you're waiting to watch Newsroom. We were hooked on the first season on Sky Atlantic last year and so excited it's back! It is so fast and frenetic and I'm not always exactly sure what's going on but I love it. As soon as I hear the title music I'm wishing I had carved out a career in the newsroom myself...

5) New stationery

I always loved the buying of new stationery for Back to School in September and I don't see why I should miss out now I don't go. I will be waving my first baby off as she starts school for the very first time next week so I think I deserved the treat...
