The Gallery Week 99 - Action

Wow, week 99 of  The Gallery! Seemed like a good week to return, especially now that I'm on my leave before my maternity leave. Hopefully now I'll have the opportunity to take part every week again (*writes optimistically choosing to forget I will soon enough have two small people to look after*) Looking through my posts I have really missed it and am excited to be back!

So this weekend it was like an action movie came to the streets of Liverpool (see what I did there?) You might be forgiven for thinking you were on the set of Cloverfield as crowds gathered and looked on in awe as Giants paraded on through. It was part of the celebrations to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, which was registered in Liverpool.

Sea Odyssey told the story of the Little Girl Giant on her journey to find news of her father who died on the Titanic. Her uncle is also on a quest to deliver a letter he found to the girl from her father and over the three day event the two Giants journeyed 23 miles around the streets Liverpool eventually finding each other and sailing off down the Mersey. It was amazing to see and I felt lucky that it took part in our city.

This post was written for Week 99 of The Gallery for the theme 'Action'. For obvious reasons I now feel the need to celebrate with an ice cream of the chocolate flake variety!
