Mummy Loves Mojitos

I love my life, I really truly do. I adore my husband and our beautiful baby. And our cat. Our little family means everything to me. That doesn’t mean that I don’t sometimes lust a little for what once was. That I don’t look back longingly at the days when I was free from responsibilities, mortgage payments, nappies. Occasionally. It doesn’t mean that I love my little family any less. In fact I probably love them more because I chose them. And I’d choose them again every time. But I’m glad I have my memories of those carefree days, and every now and then it’s good to reconnect with the old me. So that I don’t forget who I am. Let’s face it, that’s the person my husband fell in love with

I used to be a flight attendant. Everyone knows now it’s not the glamorous life it was back in the day. But it is a pretty cool Lifestyle. To name but a few I’ve spent New Year’s in Cape Town, eaten Kangaroo in Sydney , drank Mojitos in Cuba, shopped all day then danced all night in New York. The closest I get to midnight in Manhattan these days is secretly watching Gossip Girl when hubby’s in bed. And the trouble with these girls is they have me yearning for my youth again when I too was (sort of) thin and beautiful, lived in a social whirlwind, and my biggest worries were what to wear on my next night out. Which leads me to the question, how old is too old to use OMG in your vocab? And is it that wrong to be secretly in love with Chace Crawford?!

Yes I am now a Mummy, and it is undoubtedly the best thing that ever happened to me. But I am also just a girl. A girl who likes to dance on the stage (or a table, I’m not fussy) after a few too many. Who longs to spend all her salary on makeup and clothes like she used to. Who at this very moment is singing and chair dancing along to Gives You Hell from the Glee soundtrack! Which is why I’m very excited to at last be off out tonight for cocktails and to see SATC 2. I know there have been some bad reviews but please don’t spoil my fun. I love the fashion, the frivolity, the fact these girls are at least a decade older than me ;) Yes Mummy loves a cup of tea and a cupcake, but, Be Warned. Mummy also loves Mojitos...

  1. Enjoy! I haven't seen it - hear it's terrible, but think you have to switch off brain and enjoy a bit of escapeism. Nostalgia is a wonderful thing isn't it - those rose-tinted glasses that make everything seem wonderful with hindsight.;)

  2. Yes, it's a bit like a cocktail infused haze, everything is wonderful and you love everyone! Where are the memories of jet lag, homesickness and smelly aircraft toilets?! Oh, there they are *hurriedly shuts door on them*
Looking forward to the rose-tinted world tonight!

  3. I haven't had a night out for nearly 3 years :(
Thats all I want, just a night to myself. Pampering, putting on glad rags and hitting the tiles.
    One day *dreams*
